About ASK US!

We are a school aged program that is designed to alleviate working parents' worries. Created with working parents in mind, ASK US! will provide an affordable, responsible, and caring program which promotes physical, intellectual, social and cultural programs for the well being of your child.  Our program is offered to West Islip Community children attending public or private school in grades K-5.  ASK US! is an independent, non-profit organization.

The ASK US! Program offers two sessions for your convenience. Each session operates Monday through Friday, or every day the  school is in session.  The morning session hours begin at 7 am and ends at 9 am.  Breakfast is served between 7 am and 8 am.  Games,  creative play and art supplies are provided.

The afternoon session begins at 3 pm and ends at 6 pm. Children are transported from their school to the ASK US! program.  The children are given a light snack with juice while attendance is taken.  The children then have several choices of activities or programs to participate in throughout the afternoon. There is time set for the children to use the gymnasium or the outside playground (weather permitting) to promote large motor skills and good sportsmanship.Games, puzzles, books, and arts and crafts are available to the children at all times. Monday through Thursday children are always encouraged to use the time in the library to do their homework.  This gives the children the quiet and individual attention that might be needed to complete their homework assignments.  Staff members supervise and provide extra help when needed.

There is time set for the children to use the gymnasium or the outside playground (weather permitting) to promote large motor skills and good sportsmanship.

Transportation to your child's school is provided by the West Islip School District.  All children are expected to be on their best behavior on the buses and to follow the Transportation Department's School Bus Code Behavior.
